He has an original sound that mixes airy vocals with gentle acoustic music. His popularity shot up when he released his song\, Can You Be Mine\, which has gained over sixty thousand views since it was first released in early 2021. He was also the lead singer of the rock band\, From Indian Lakes. \nVann’s musical career began with his band\, which formed in 2009. He wrote most of the songs for the band too\, and they released four albums as a group. With twenty thousand Instagram followers and nine thousand Youtube subscribers\, the band were definitely popular\, and released music up until 2019. \nNow\, Vann is exploring life as a solo artist for a while. He first began uploading music to Youtube in 2020\, when he posted several cover songs on his account. His first few videos only received a few hundred views\, but he persevered\, continuing to share his music simply because he loved it. However\, the success of his original song\, Can You Be Mine\, alerted many music fans to his up and coming presence in the industry. Now\, he has gained over 12 thousand Instagram followers who are awaiting his new music with baited breath. \nGina Rose is an indie folk singer and songwriter from Reno\, Nevada. Her inspiration is drawn from tenderness of Patsy Cline\, Emmylou Harris\, and Lucinda Williams\, amongst many other country stars of the 60s and 70s. Amidst the dim lights of her stages\, her soothing\, emotion-filled voice and powerful guitar resonate with an audience in a profound way that keeps them coming back.

Marty’s voice is beautiful and unique\, his lyrics stark yet lush over gritty electrified guitar\, melding beautifully into genre-defying music within the vast definitions of Americana. One can hear an urgency and complexity in the songs\, expressing something elemental and perhaps contradictory: love and anger\, joy and pain\, real and imagined.\nThe live performance is at the core of Marty’s projects. Together they have combined their individual strengths to deliver powerful narratives of life in song.  With their lineup of guitar\, viola\, upright bass\, drums and ethereal vocal harmonies that float like a dream\, the Sweet Lillies’ music has a hard hitting original flavor with a forward-looking eye.  They have incorporated all of their cumulative life-experiences into their music\, song-writing\, and artistry\, crafting an uncommonly-beautiful style they have christened “String-Americana” – a nod to the band’s all encompassing musical tastes and willingness to experiment with genres ranging from folk and rock all the way to hip-hop.  \nThis night of music kicks off a two night special of a live album recording at The Virgil with Liam Kyle Cahill\, a Nevada based songwriter (and geologist) that has traveled the world over and written about his experiences. He will be joined by Andrew David Weber\, a prolific songwriter out of Wisconsin and also a founding member of their joint band “Part Time Problems”\, as well as local restaurateur turned songwriter Kasey Christensen. Local recording engineer Tim Chatwood will be recording the show thanks to a generous grant provided by the Nevada Arts Council. \nThursday May 16th will feature a headline performance by The Sweet Lillies\, an Americana/bluegrass trio from Colorado.
